WILL MY DONATION REALLY HELP THE LAS VEGAS COMMUNITY?
FIT helps develop and diversify the workforce by providing training to southern Nevadans to qualify for positions in all areas of industry. Both directly and in collaboration with over 120 local partners, FIT clients find jobs as truck drivers, paramedics, A+ computer repair technicians, legal assistants, chefs, dog groomers, and many other positions.
We address the need for the community to become more stable. A thriving economy that provides valuable jobs, income for necessities, and sufficient revenue for public services creates a healthy community. FIT graduates transition from living in subsidized housing to becoming renters and eventually local homeowners. Working parents are able to pay for their children to play sports, go to the movies, and become a strong family. Through employment, FIT clients are able to support their family: FIT clients gain dignity, self-respect and confidence through increased independence and self-sufficiency.
FIT addresses southern Nevada’s future needs. The children of FIT clients learn from parents who are now able to provide for basic needs, stable housing, and a less stressful home environment. These factors decrease high school drop-out rates, as well as rates of incarceration and substance abuse. FIT clients provide their children with secure home environments and role-models of self-sufficiency, ending the cycle of generational poverty.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THE PROGRAM ACTUALLY WORKS?
We track every client’s individual progress through the program for one year after job placement. Thus, we can analyze program performance outcomes and also identify benchmarks in the process at which clients may get bottlenecked. This allows us to take immediate steps to correct any potential problems and helps ensure that the program is operating at peak efficiency.
