Through this project, Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow (FIT) empowers unemployed and underemployed southern Nevadans into jobs that pay enough to support their family. We do this by matching each client in the project with a Case Manager who works with that person from then through their graduation. With career guidance, clients identify a job that they would like to obtain. With their Case Manager, they then put together a plan that identifies all of the things that will be necessary for the client to achieve that career. This may include going to a vocational school, earning an industry recognized credential, receiving mentoring and employment related services. Among the careers that the Employment Empowerment Project focuses on are jobs such as:
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Phlebotomy
- Automotive Technician
- CDL-A
- OSHA 10 & Forklift

How to Apply
The first step is to attend an Orientation. As of now, Orientations are held for the Re-entry Initiative Program every Monday and Tuesday at 8:30am at 1931 Stella Lake Drive, Las Vegas, NV. This is just southwest of the corner of Martin L. King and Lake Mead Blvd. Be sure you are on time because the doors close when Orientation starts. Entry is first come, first served and spaces are limited so come early! You do not need to bring anything with you to attend an Orientation. At the end of the Orientation, you will be able to decide whether the Employment Empowerment Project and FIT are right for you.
